After the successful debut of the Chetaki scooter, Bajaj is poised to dominate the two-wheeler industry in India with the launch of its new EV scooter Bajaj Blade. The brand applied for a trademark for “Bajaj” in March 2022. However, the application is still in process. Since the trademark has not yet been approved, the Bajaj Blade is unlikely to hit the market soon. You will probably see it hitting the Indian roads in late 2023 or early 2024.

Let us rewind a little and remember that the name Bajaj Blade was introduced to us as a 125cc scooter at the Auto Expo 2006. However, it was not launched because the trademark application was rejected. Although there are no official words, the upcoming launch will likely be a modern interpretation of the 2006 version. So, do you want to know more about this fascinating scooter? You will find all the information about this upcoming launch in this article.

Bajaj Blade Electric Scooter Expected Features

Battery

To compete with its competitors in the market, the Bajaj Blade could use a stronger motor and a larger battery to make the Blade more attractive to buyers who want better performance. According to the latest information, the Bajaj Blade EV scooter is expected to have a long battery life and a durable power package. It will likely come with a powerful 50.4-volt, 60.4-ampere-hour (Ah) battery pack that may be IPX-certified to improve weather resistance.

Speed

The top speed of the Bajaj Blade EV is expected to be around 75 kilometers per hour (km/h), although details on acceleration are still unconfirmed.

Range

Compared to the Chetak Premium EV, the Blade EV is expected to have a range of about 100 km per charge.

Design

It is designed in contrast with Bajaj’s current Model Chetak. Chetak’s old-school design appeals to a mature audience. In contrast, Blade will likely ditch the traditional look and opt for a more contemporary, sporting, and youthful design that complements the demands of the young generation of India.

Other Features

The Blade is expected to include more technology, such as a modern feature with smartphone connectivity and maybe even GPS, to compete with rival scooters. Moreover, since Bajaj company’s previous models have various features like Remote Start, Bluetooth, Call, SMS Alert, and Digital Speedometer, Bajaj Blade is also expected to be equipped with these features.

Pricing

With all these premium features, the cost would probably be even higher than the Chetak, which is currently one of the most expensive electric two-wheelers in the country. It should be noted that the company has not yet released any official information about this electric scooter. However, it is expected to be available in the Indian market for Rs 1.50 lakh.

The launch of the Bajaj Blade looks a promising addition to India’s continuously expanding automobile sector. Stay tuned to our website for the latest updates on the Bajaj Blade’s launch and exciting developments in the world of electric scooters.
